This Introductory RAMP Inspection Workshop aims to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the European RAMP Inspection Programme, its structure, and foundational principles. Through a series of presentations and discussions led by Capt. Peter Wilczek, the workshop will cover the program's regulatory framework, including EU and ICAO guidelines, inspection procedures, and standardized methods for categorizing and reporting findings.
Target participants include members from the Civil Aviation Authorities in South Asia and relevant stakeholders strictly involved in this domain.
Detailed Workshop Objectives:
Day 1: Introduction to the European RAMP Inspection Programme
Participants will start the workshop with an opening ceremony and introductions, followed by an overview of the European RAMP Inspection Programme. Sessions will cover the programme’s structure, objectives, and the EU and ICAO regulatory frameworks that support ramp inspections and annual planning.
Day 2: Inspection Procedures and Categorization of Findings
On the second day, participants will delve into the standardized procedures used in EU RAMP inspections. Sessions will include methods for categorizing and reporting findings, with case-based examples to clarify the classification process. This day emphasizes foundational skills in consistent, effective inspection practices.
Day 3: Practical Exercises and Case Studies
The third day will focus on applying theoretical knowledge through hands-on exercises and case studies. Participants will prepare for the live inspection exercise by working through practical examples that illustrate key inspection concepts. These exercises are designed to build confidence and prepare participants for real-world inspections.
Day 4: Live RAMP Inspection and Workshop Debrief
On the final day, participants will conduct a live RAMP inspection at Colombo Bandaranaike Airport under expert guidance. This exercise allows participants to apply their learning in a real setting, observing and categorizing operational practices. The workshop will conclude with a debrief, discussions on the potential for a South Asia RAMP programme, and a Q&A session, enabling participants to address specific questions on implementing local RAMP inspections.
Note: Each day will include breaks for networking, refreshments, and informal discussions. The agenda is subject to adjustments based on participant feedback and emerging topics of interest.
Participants will gain practical insights into conducting inspections through case-based examples, a guided practical exercise, and a live inspection at Colombo Bandaranaike Airport. By the end of the workshop, civil aviation authority representatives will be equipped with initial tools to implement or enhance RAMP inspections within their jurisdictions. Additionally, the session will briefly explore the potential development of a future South Asia RAMP programme to foster regional cooperation in this area, thereby fostering collaboration in RAMP practices on both the regulatory and operational sides, guided by the EU-SA APP II RAMP expert.
From the EU-SA APP II, we wish you a successful event.
