Strengthening the partnership in aviation between the EU and South Asia

On 18th  September 2023, esteemed Directors-General and key stakeholders convened for the South Asian Regional Initiative (SARI) Steering Committee Meeting (SCM). This pivotal gathering propelled forward the transformative journey of SARI, advancing harmonization in aviation regulations across airworthiness, flight operations, flight crew licensing, and air navigation. Thanks to their insights and active participation, we continue to steer the region toward a unified aviation landscape.

 

During the meeting, the representatives from the member states reflected upon the challenges and the implementation status in the region and discussed the way forward once the funding from the project concludes in 2024.

 

Throughout the meeting, the committee elected and appointed Mr. Abdulla Mohamed to the position of new SARI Chairman and Mr. Rayhan Wanniappa to the position of SARI Vicechairman. Listen to the message by the newly appointed SARI Chairman below:
