EU UAS Operations and Regulations in the

Open & Specific Categories Workshop

This workshop aims at providing an overview of EU UAS operations & regulations in the open & specific categories in EU, identifying potential applications at bilateral and regional level, while encouraging harmonisation and cooperation in South Asia.

The workshop will provide a platform for South Asian states to share their current drones regulation status, showcasing best practices and discussing challenges. Through panel discussions and collaborative sessions, participants will identify opportunities for harmonisation and future cooperation between the EU and South Asian states, ultimately aiming to enhance safety, efficiency, and innovation in UAS operations across the region..

 

Target participants include members from the Civil Aviation Authorities in South Asia and relevant organisations with drones' operations, such as Air Navigation Service Providers (ANSPs).

 

Throughout the five days, the workshop will seek to facilitate a holistic understanding of European UAS practices while tailoring discussions to the specific needs and challenges of the South Asian region, thereby fostering a collaborative approach to drones development both it the regulatory and operational side, led by the EASA & EU-SA APP II drones experts.

 

The different projects will fully sponsor travel, accommodation and meal plan for up to three participants:

• Two representatives from each CAA

• One representative from each relevant organistaion dealing with UAS operations

 

Additional representatives may be accepted on a case by case basis and upon agreement of the project team. Partial sponsorship could be offered in those cases.

 

We therefore invite you to nominate the most suitable participants for this event and extend this invitation to the abovementioned organisations who might be interested in this activity.
